Finalizing the New School Year--7th Grade

The planning stage is starting to wrap up for the school year.  We have one more shipment of books to come in from Amazon and it is co-op stuff.  I've got lessons scheduled on Skedtrack and made our daily schedules.

7th grade (3-4 hours per day)
Algebra 1--that's the first thing each day.  She will work on homework up to 4 days a week and have co-op class once a week.
Literary Analysis--reading and working on things for class, 3 days per week plus co-op once a week.
Composition--working on own & for lit class, 3 days per week
Spelling--twice a week (Mon & Wed)
World History--twice a week (Mon & Wed)
Earth Science--twice a week (Mon & Thurs)
Vocabulary--three-four times a week (Mon, Wed, Thurs and sometimes Fri)
Logic--twice a week (Thurs, Fri
Art--once a week in co-op

What is she using?
Math U See, Skills for Literary Analysis, Intro to Logic, Spell to Write and Read, Vocabulary from Classical Roots A & B, Oak Meadow World History & Earth Science, Writing Strands 3 & Jensen's Format Writing.  Plus assorted books to read.

The Reading List:
Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery (lit class)
Idylls ofthe King by Alfred Lord Tennyson ("The Death of King Arthur") (lit class)
Silas Marner by George Elliot (lit class)
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain (lit class)
The Call of the Wild by Jack London (lit class)
The Screw Tape Letters by C. S. Lewis (lit class)
The Diary of Anne Frank (for history)
Miracle Worker (for history)
a biography of Martin Luther King Jr. (for history)
A Christmas Carol (for history)
A Boat to Nowhere (for history)

Plus she gets to watch great movies:
something from Shakespeare
"A Tale of Two Cities"
"Oliver!" or "A Christmas Carol"
"Glory" or "Gone with the Wind"
"All Quiet on the Western Front"
"The Sting" or "The Grapes of Wrath"
"A Diary of Anne Frank"
"Miracle Worker"
"Truman" (about the president)
"Quiz Show"

I think it will be an interesting year for her.  Fun and boring.  Hard and easy.  There is a real mix.  She is gearing up for high school work and even doing some work at that level while having some classes that are still low-key and laid back.  We'll see how it all goes.
