WIP Wednesday

Just to let you know that you will not see the Gryffindor scarf today but I will be posting all about it on Friday.  Yes, I finished it yesterday.  Also, on Friday, I will post the name of the winner of my giveaway.  You have until midnight on Thursday to enter.

So do I have a work in progress for this week?

Of course, I do.  I have started working on my felted project bag.  I wanted a round bottom, with a tall tube like shape and funky handles all done up in a rainbow.  After much searching of patterns at Ravelry and in the books at my local library, I found the Felted Bucket Bag.

The bottom of the bag is knitted in short rows so that you have a series of wedges.  This is what it looks like so far:
My daughter pointed out to me that I should have knit the colors in a butterfly reflection with the cool colors on the bottom and the warm ones on top.  She is right but I knitted it as opposite rainbows.

I think it looks really neat on the inside as well:

I like how the colors link up.  It will be really pretty when it felts and the colors sort of blur together.  I am knitting it in cascade 220 wool and I have to say that it is really easy yarn to work with.

Do you want to see more works in progress?  Then check out Tami's blog.

I love how it's working up so far! I think I might like the inside better than the outside, the little dotted-lines of the colour joins are so pretty.

I think Cascade 220 is great to work with too. The colours in your bag look great.

Short rows allow you to do all kinds of interesting things in knitting, don't they? This is going to be a very cute bag!

Such a cool pattern to use up all that lovely Cascade 220. I love how yours is looking so far. Short rows is such a clever and fun technique to knit.

Thanks for stopping by everyone. Yes, I like doing the short rows as well and the repeats on this is multiples of 3 so very easy to remember.

I also think the inside is really cool and that's why I had to take a picture of it.
