Weekly Report

More subjects got dumped this week.  I dropped the math and reading because my oldest finished her book and both were having a great deal of trouble focusing on math now that we are getting so close to Christmas.  Instead, I am reading two chapters a day out of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.  They did build their own version of Hogwarts out of Lego's though.

We only have the "Freeing Dobby" set.  Instead of building the outside, they made the inside rooms.  As you can see Gryffindor has the largest room with the beds done in red and yellow.  Ravenclaw is done in blue and brown, Hufflepuff in yellow and black and finally Slytherin is done in grey and green.  I thought they did a nice job.  They even used window & doorways as the "secret" entrances.

Here is a closeup of Gryffindor:

Dobby has his own bed with his book and sock in it.  And another close-up:

Harry & friends are watching TV.  The little pack that is from an Indiana Jones set is supposed to be an "owl."  They get fairly creative in deciding what things are supposed to be.

So Lego building and Harry Potter have been the learning adventures this week.  What have you been up to?

Sounds like a lot of fun. We're supposed to be reading HP 1 as well, but the kids just aren't into it having heard it so many times before. I'm not sure what we'll do instead.
