Grade 5 Weekly Report

The biggest, funnest thing we did was plan the route of her "Trip across the USA" project.  She decided that she would go from our home to Disney world and make stops in some fun cities in between.  We ordered brochures online and they are already coming in:

So where is she going?
Madison, Indiana
Louisville, Kentucky
Bardstown, Kentucky
Bowling Green, Kentucky
Lake Cumberland (we have relatives there)
Knoxville, Tennessee
Chattanooga, Tennessee
Huntsville, Alabama (space camp)
Birmingham, Alabama
Atlanta, Georgia
Macon, Georgia (the best cheese-grits ever)
Savannah, Georgia (she wanted to go to the beach and travel along the coast)
Jacksonville, Florida
Saint Augustine, Florida
Titusville, Florida ( the Kennedy Space center)
Orlando, Florida and Disney World

Next week, we will start doing her diary entries and making the map of her route.  I think she will really enjoy it.  Although, my husband did ask who was going to pay for this trip and how long would it take to visit all those places.

In other work, she is progressing.  She did subject/predicate work for grammar, review in math, cells in science and did well in most things.

We live in Louisville. It's a fun place. Myabe she'll get to come for real some day. Our favorite place is the Louisville Zoo (louisvillezoo.org), but there are lots of interesting museums as well. If she'd like to ask some questions about anything or wants an insider perspective, I'd be happy to help.

What a fun project! I expect she (and everyone else) will learn a lot about the country.
