What's in the box? Second Grade

We have an exciting week planned for second grade. I think we will have a lot of fun with camels, spiders, math gnomes and Pharaohs. So what's in the box?

Box 1--Reading/Phonics: horse breed easy readers, the consonants and decoding simple words. Instead of a fable this week we have the story of "Saint Fronto's Camels."

Box 2--Main Lesson: Math stories from http://waldorfjourney.typepad.com/a_journey_through_waldorf/2010/06/math-geometry-sale.html We are using A Journey Through Waldorf Math and are doing the 4 process stories as a fun introduction. This week our gnomes will discover 12, 15 and the 2's table.

Science is Spider webs and we will make a God's Eye.

Box 3--Math: working with numbers to 100 and the group of 14, 8 and 6.

Box 4--Lapbook: Kentucky Derby festival, 3 crowns, and finishing it all up.
Pharaohs: Nyuserre Ini, Menkauhor Kaiu, Djedkare Isesi and Unas.

Box 5--On Your Own work:
The June page of the calendar and addition to 7.

I think we will have a lot of fun.
