We have black raspberry bushes in our front yard. They line the driveway and surround the play-yard. They are in season for about two weeks a year. When they are in season, I pick berries for breakfast. This is most of this morning's harvest.

We planted black raspberries because I used to pick them as a child. We have found some wild ones in our town but they are disappearing. The raspberries provide food and shelter for lots of animals like birds and wild rabbits. We are happy to share our briers with them.
