Animals in the City

On our trips we often go to places that are heavily populated. Miami Beach is not a nature preserve it is filled with buildings, traffic, noise, and has great views of the ocean and beaches. But animals have adapted to these settings.

In this picture a blackbird has found fresh water on top of this pipe. The water in the background is salt water and not drinkable.

This dove found the water alongside the pool and even at the edge of the pool to be drinkable. He also found crumbs and scraps of food to eat.
Nature is everywhere and you can do interesting nature studies even in the middle of the big city just by looking around you and noticing the animal activity that goes on.
