Oak Meadow 2--Calendar Project: January

One of the neat long-term projects in Oak Meadow 2 is the calendar project where you have your child make a calendar for the year. We are making ours for 2011. This is January and my daughter drew a picture of a foal and wrote the first line to a poem about the seasons: "January begins the year." We found the poem and are reading the monthly poems from this book:

There are some nice poems for each month in this book. I love Elsa Beskow's books. They are always beautiful and well-written.

Each week we will be making another month for the calendar. I will try to post the other months as we do them.
