The Abby Inn

My husband and I just got back from a weekend without the kids. We've gone to Tennessee in the past to stay in the cabins or hotels there but we just found a place that is a bit less expensive and not as busy.

Nashville, Indiana is a nice little town that is filled with local flavor. There are only two chain restaurants in town and they are on the edge of town. The restaurants are all locally owned and unique. The shops are as well and there is a heavily artisan influence as this town has been a haven for artists since the early part of the 20th century.

We went there and stayed at the Abby Inn. There are a number of bed and breakfasts as well as hotels and even a timeshare but this place was special. First, each room or suite comes with a hot tub and second, no one under 18 is allowed to stay there. The inn takes pride in giving you every thing you need so you can enjoy your privacy. There are no phones but there are TVs and a nice collection of popular DVDs.

This inn is set up in the tradition of the cabins down in Tennessee but on a smaller scale. We really enjoyed our time there. Here is a link in case you've been thinking of getting away from it all without the children: http://www.abbey-inn.com/

The service is also excellent. When we had trouble with our hot tub we were upgraded to a suite.
