The Spelling Box

This is what I have in our spelling box:
WISE Guide to Spelling by Wanda Sanseri
A binder in which I have organized the words by phonogram and rule
Word sort and picture match games for phonograms we have already studied
File folder games including: apple contractions, fish friends, a bowl full of cherries, go fly a kit/e, and phonograms, phonograms among others.
spelling task cards
letter tiles
alphabet magnets
We use Spell to Write and Read differently than most people do. We notebook the phonograms and rules before having the list dictated. They also practice writing their spelling words using the various tools that I have provided. And we play games to practice phonogram sounds.
It seems to be working better this time using this method than any other method that we have used in the past. What's in your spelling box?
