My Homeschool Folder

After organizing the household chores and to-do lists in a nice handy 3-prong folder, I also organized our homeschool. I have been spending a lot of time at http://donnayoung.org/index.htm. And I have set up my new homeschool folder to look like this:

Front pocket:
A sheet that holds ideas for field trips

I used the semester planners on this page, http://donnayoung.org/forms/planners/term.htm, to make sheets where I wrote down daily lesson plans for our curriculum for the year. Now I won't have those bulky binders where I have all the plans for all the curriculum together and I have to redo everything when I make changes. I can just throw out the semester plan for a subject and do up a new one when we decide to make changes.

In the Prongs:

School Attendance Calendars for my girls (each has their own) and the ones I used can be found here http://donnayoung.org/forms/planners/attendance.htm I used the 3-page attendance form from the Colonial planner. It is really nice. I can mark off our days and write the in the column and then add them up for the month. I was also able to write down the weeks so I could figure out how many weeks we need to do school this year.

I also have a Homeschool Yearly Schedule sheet from http://highland.hitcho.com.au/teacherforms.htm. I am using it to write down what our unit studies are on as we do them.

In the Back pocket:

Our combined weekly schedule from this page http://donnayoung.org/forms/planners/4col.htm. We have a four day school week so I use the 4 columns by 9 rows to account for all of our subjects. We are combining spelling, history, science and art. They have math, Latin and grammar separate. So we use 8 of the rows. I date it at the top and I am filling these out on a weekly basis so when I need to make changes it is OK.

And that is it. You have had a tour of my homeschool folder. Is there any thing that you put into your planning folder that helps you keep track of school and schoolwork?

Came upon your blog and have enjoyed it. I like your organization folder. I think I will take your tips and form one for us. Many blessings.
