Weekly Report--March 24, 2009

Busy, busy, busy week for us.

Tuesday, I had one of my teeth prepped for a crown. It took an hour and a half of drilling but then I have a great dentist who is a perfectionist.

Wednesday, we had gymnastics and Thursday, the technician came to upgrade our Internet and cable. Yeah! We are no longer in the dark ages when it comes to TV. The kids are loving the Discovery Kids channel with Time Warp Trio, Magic School Bus and Saddle Club.

Now for the review:

First Grade:

Copywork--phone number and address (yes, we are trying to remember that stuff that is sooo hard to forget.)

Math--subtraction within 7 was the big focus this week.

Lapbook--she finished the one on ducks.

Third Grade:

History--The Ottoman Empire

Latin--subjects

Composition--She wrote a story with the "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" theme. Basically, someone is disguising themselves to get something that they want.

Math--finished up time and did the work on angles.

Lapbook--she is reading about Benjamin Franklin

It was a busy week but a good week.

Friday Fun Club--Today we are celebrating Earth Day and Arbor Day with a trip in my garden. We will be learning about compost and planting egg carton gardens.

I hope you had a great week!

Sounds like a good week. We're in the midst of being upgraded to fiber optics as well.
