Weekly Report March 29, 2009

It was a good week. We finished up our work for March. The week was a little on the light side.

First Grade:

Phonics--Started Unit 3 with oo, phonograms that say "oo" and "oi" sounds.
Math--place value, subtraction within 5, and 1/2.
Lapbook--we finished our Felicity lapbook.

Third Grade:

History--the rise of Prussia
Latin--declensions and prefixes
Classical Writing--verbs, subject/predicate. The big surprise was that she pointed out adjectives when looking for subject and predicates and we really have not talked about them all that much.

Math--fractions. She breezed through about 8 lessons this week.
Lapbook--George Washington was finished.

Friday Club--We took a tour of mythical creatures from ancient Greece, pondered the differences between seals and mermaids, listened to a telling of an Irish mermaid tale, and created our own mythical creatures.

We missed our time at the park because they were blowing new wood chips under the equipment so we had a birthday party for one of the children at Chuck E. Cheese instead. It was a lot of fun.

How was your week?
