Weekly Check-in December 12

Lots of reasons to celebrate this week. This was our last week of school and we will have an almost unheard of three week vacation for Christmas. Yeah!

My oldest had a stomach virus and was too ill for us to meet everyone to make Christmas ornaments. So we stayed home. I did take my youngest to the Super Scientist program at the library and she learned how to make snow.

Third grade:
Lively Latin finished up the introductory material
Finished the Grinch lapbook

First grade:
Rod and Staff Reading Unit 1 is finished. Yeah!
Practiced addition within 5
Finished the Grinch lapbook

Went to a local nursing home to sing Christmas songs and handed out snowflakes for the residents. It was so much fun we are scheduled for another nursing home today.

The plan--will have a friend over this morning, sing at the nursing home and hand out more snowflakes, have more friends over this afternoon and then off to the library for Legends and Lores program about Christmas stories. Busy but fun day.

Hope everyone else is having a fun time finishing up the semester.

Regardless of the illness, you still accomplished a lot. We are fighting colds and stomach viruses here too. Hope all is well.

Completion is a great feeling! I hope you will post next week about your baking! That's always a favorite here!

That sounds like a great week - except the stomach virus. Singing and snowflakes sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the semester.
