Third Week of April

Another good week. We are gearing down for our summer break and finishing up our Kindergarten and second grade year. When we get back will will start our summer transition over to third and first grade work. I hope next year is as good as this year has been.

Copywork--numbers and number names

Phonics--Rod and Staff Phonics workbook lessons 12 to 14. (She has lost patience with doing a lot of work so we are just focusing on the most important part--the phonics. When she is ready we will pick up the readers and reading workbook again.)

Math--Rod and Staff addition within 3, Singapore Earlybird addition within 8.

Second Grade:

Phonics--igh and kn
Copywork--Sentences for igh and kn phonograms
Story of the World--The Black Death

Singapore 3a--Finished up long division and started working on the 6 tables. We will work with the 6 tables next week and finish them up after break. By the end of June we should be finished with the 7, 8 and 9 tables as well and ready for a unit on money.

Latin--Finished up chapter 4 and noticing that she is retaining the material very well. We will start back up with chapter 5 after our break.

Science--finishing up the unit on states of matter.

McCall-Harby Test Lessons in Reading--she got another 100%.

It was a good week.

Agreed! Great week!

How much school do you have left?? Weeks? or days?? *Ü* When do you start back up??

We will finish up basics and unit 2 of TOG in May (end of May) take a break for June and July and start back in w/ TOG in August. I was hoping to start year 4 in the fall, but I think it will be January now. I keep going back and forth.... and I need to stop that!

Have a great weekend!

Next week is our last. Then we will take a 2 week break and come back to gear up for fall. We hope to finish SOTW 2 by the end of December and start SOTW 3 in January but we may finish sooner.

Thanks for stopping by.

I'm jealous of you folks who are finishing soon. We aren't done till the very end of May.

We try to match the PS around here in our schedule, and that's how it is.

Sounds like a good week!

Thanks. One of the main reasons we homeschool is so that we don't have to be on the public school schedule but can follow our own beat.

Thanks for stopping by.
