Tapestry of Grace Week Five

This is the first installment about our School Weeks. They will be labeled by what Tapestry of Grace week we are on. We started Tapestry with week four.

Our literature selection was King Arthur and this week which we did over two weeks was all about Vikings and early France and England. We read this at bedtime.

I am going to put this in order of how we schedule our schoolwork.

My youngest worked in Singapore Earlybird on Graphs and my oldest finished up addition and subtraction with money and started on Fractions in her Singapore 2b book.

Copywork on kittens was the choice during these weeks for my oldest while my youngest continues to learn her letters in Handwriting Without Tears Letters and Numbers for Me.

My youngest continued to work on basic phonograms and spelling three-letter words for phonics while my oldest learned all about the sounds of C, K, CK and how and when to use these.

Verbs were the order of the day for my youngest while my oldest learned about prepositions. My oldest also started her Easy Grammar 2/3 book this week.

We started the first week of our new bible curriculum and learned all about creation.

During School time we read from Story of the World while coloring the corresponding maps and coloring pages to go along with our readings.

And for our project we continued to work on our castle made out of boxes that is just the right size for polly pockets, fairies and other small toys to play in.

Check in after Thursday to find out how week six with Tapestry went.
